Sharper Image SI720 Ionic Breeze® GP Desktop Air Purifier

Little Wonder
Amazing little product. I've had my first one for about 8 years, and had to purchase another one. Appreciate the no hassle cleaning, just wipe down the bars; give it a little shake and back in business. Small enought to take with to hotels and it completely clears out the musty smell in about an hour. Works really well for smaller rooms (i.e. bedrooms) and would recommend.

Shark:Electronic Steam Professional Slim Pocket Mop

Poor product
I purchased this product because I heard Shark was a good product. I would rate zero stars if I could. This product did not produce enough steam to clean the floor. It left streaks all over my floor and then after I cleaned it with the Shark steam mop, I washed my floors with a regular mop and water and my mop picked up so much dirt. The shark more or less dusted with a little moisture. It was a total waste of time and money.

Used it once.
I just got this mop from big lots. The steam isn't coming through. What a waste. I've had a steam mop before but this is the worst. Euro flex monster mop was bad too. I had 3 of them and all went copouts after a few weeks. But this shark never even stand a chance.

Don't Waste Your Money
Bought steamer in November 2012. Used it about once per week. It flat out stopped working in March 2013. No steam coming through at all. This is with proper care & distilled water. I had this happen with a Shark vacuum cleaner too, but thought maybe that was a fluke. Their products work for only a few months apparently & their customer service via the India call center is a joke. Save your money.

Crock-Pot 33511LD-C 5-Quart Slow Cooker with Bonus Little Dipper, Stainless Steel

How did I get along without one for so long?!?!?!
I recently purchased this very same crock pot at a local retail store. I have to admit, at first I was very nervous about how my meals would turn out, much less leaving it on all day while at work. ( I am gone 10+ hours a day) From some of the reviews I read about Rival crock pots you'd think they were fires just waiting to happen and they were only good at making charcoal for dinner. So I decided before I risk burning down my apartment I would test it to see if it was safe and if it gave me the desired results. Delicious meals. So I decided to try a fairly simple recipe that comes with the owners guide. It was Chicken in a pot. When ever I try to make roast chicken in the oven the dark meat comes out slightly raw and the white me dry and tasteless. So what the hey, here we go. Popped that chicken in the crock pot with some chopped veggies of choice and after approximately eight hours it was ready. I carefully pulled the chicken out of the crock pot and before it was all the way...

consider carefully
This crock pot looks great. The lid is subpar however. It is lightweight and thin and seems cheap.

The outer surface of the crock pot and the crockery insert get very very hot even on low. The good thing is that the little side handles do not get hot at all.

This pot cooked my whole chicken well on low, but the first meal I tried burned. Crock Pot Pizza cooked fine in my old (about 5 years old) rival crock pot on low for 4 or 5 hours or longer. I just couldn't cook it on high or it would burn. In this new crock pot it burned at 2 1/2 hours. So beware. It looks good, but you have to adjust your cooking times and you certainly couldn't actually leave the house for a work day and cook anything for that length of time without it burning.

I Don't Know What Everyone Is Complaining About
I use this crock pot all the time. I use it for stews, curries, pot roasts...especially during the summer when I don't want to heat up the house by using the oven...and everything cooks perfectly.

My trick is to make a sofrito to flavor the meat during most of the cooking. Don't add too much liquid, you don't need it. The natural juices from the meat and sofrito are sufficient.

In the last hour I cut some fresh vegetables, throw them in, and turn the cooker to high. The meat is perfect and the vegetables are tender but not overcooked.

The clay insert fits in the fridge for leftover storage, it's microwave safe for reheating, and cleans easily.

LiHom LJ-MB107B 10 Cup Rice Cooker

Don't anticipate too much
The listed "original price" is high, but the cooker is as good as that price. With very limited function, it gives dry rice sometimes.
People can get a better cooker in costco with less than 40 bucks.

Excellent..
We love this rice cooker. Simple and quick. My Korean friend suggested this rice cooker to me. Great purchase. We make rice much more often now. Perfect every time.

LiHom LJ-MB107B 10 cup rice cooker
This rice cooker is well worth the $37.00 I paid. The shipping was very fast. Open the box and out came this beautiful rice cooker. I don't know how I got a long without it for years. I would buy this again for the $37.00 but I don't think I would pay much more than that. God Bless you.

Hampton Bay Winthrop 52 in. Rustic Bronze Ceiling Fan

Hampton Bay Winthrop ceiling fan
This fan is great if all you want is a fan. The light is worthless - more like a nightlight! It is so dim it's impossible to see anything under it! The light kit is ridiculous having only 3 tiny Christmas tree lights in a housing that is so shallow no other bulbs would ever fit. And forget about buying another light kit!! It is an "up mount" and what Home Depot tells me is that "most light kits now are side mount" or much smaller!! This fan is not worth it!

Cozy-Heater 250 Watt Wall Mounted Electric Panel Heater

Smells, dimensions not correctly displayed
The Cozy-Heater 250 Watt Wall Mounted Electric Panel Heater smells like a buring electrical product. The photograph shows an item that APPEARS to be 24'W x 18"H x 2"D, BUT the actual product is 18"W x 24'H x 2"D, which makes a differece in where the item can be mounted. The item arrived in a box that pictured an eligent looking heater that had a front switch on the upper right hand corner, which is the heater that I ordered. What I arrived in the box does not match the picture on the website no the box. Also, the panel heater arrives covered in white dust of an unknown nature. The toxicity level of which is totally unknown. The heater has to be cleaned off before initial use. Further, the "NEW" heater design requires that the electrical wire remain in close contact with the heated surface, which should be considered a serious safety hazard.

After much email, discussion, and confusion, I returned the product and was very glad to be rid of the odor, yes the product...

Canarm CF42NEW5BPT New Yorker Dual Mount 42-Inch Ceiling Fan with Flat Opal Light Kit and 5 Reversible Blades, Brushed Pewter

Canarm CF42NEW5ORB New Yorker Dual Mount 42-Inch Ceiling Fan with Flat Opal...
This ceiling fan was purchased as a replacement fan in my newly ReDone kitchen. What can I say, other than, it's beautiful, quiet & looks like it belongs in MY KITCHEN. I absolutely LOVE IT. Couldn't have made a better choice !!!

Nice, but a little noisy
I like the looks of the fan (it's a good thing or it would be going back). Good lighting, but the fan, at first didn't work, then when it did, it is a little too noisy, like a constant humming. Take this into consideration before purchasing.

Great fan!
We've had it installed a week or so and it is great. If you are looking for something in the bronze, this is a great item for the price. Quiet and moves air well.

Sunbeam Carousel Rotisserie

All rotisseries should be this way
I got this rotisserie after moving out for college. My mother has one and I decided I couldn't live without one either. That was 10 years ago and it's still one of the most used appliances in my household. It comes with a handy-dandy lb./min. suggestion on the front for poultry, lamb, beef, etc. and the unit is easy to take apart and clean. I baby mine, cleaning it gently and thoroughly after every use and my mother "abuses" hers--both are still doing great and performing flawlessly. I generally don't cook anything larger than 8 lbs in it and I also grease all the metal parts that touch the food with olive oil prior to cooking to help speed up clean-up in the end. I like this rotisserie so much that I was hoping to find one online for my sister who's getting married, but so far there's been no luck. Too bad. It's a great, healthy, and handy little appliance.

Wish I could find another
I purchased this at a wal-mart on a whim in 2000 to see if I liked rotisserie at home food. Since then I have purchased Showtimes (Don't)and have tried others. The difference here is Vertical. No ties to deal with, no chicken wings slipping down and burning. Stores easy. I have been trying to find this item for over 2 years.

Please bring back my compact little Rotisserie Oster. It was awesome.

Love this machine!!!
Used one for over 10 years. My old one just wore out. Love this machine. Makes chicken just like at the supermarket or Costco but better. Have used it for small roasts as well. Easy to clean. I just put everything in the dishwasher except the main electrical part. AAAAA+++++

Nesco FD-39 500-Watt Food Dehydrator

Effective and efficient albeit noisy
My title says it all. While the unit is indeed noisy...it's not that bad. Definitely not the pitch of a 'hair dryer'. I have processed close to 75 lbs of beef over the past 9 months and it's performed like a champ! Further, I find that 5-7 hours is all it takes for the jerky dehydrating process...higher if you like nuggets. I love that I do not have to re-stack trays (I used to have a Ronco with a base heating element w/ no fan). Finally, it is super easy to clean provided you pat down your raw meat before putting them on the trays.

Ultimately, the unit works and works well. What more can you ask for?

very loud
This did a good job but it is very loud. I had to put it in the basement so as not to hear it!!
Again this is very loud fan motor. I will be looking for another unit.

Loud but good
Using this machine to dry hot peppers, works great. Sounds like a hair dryer though.

KRUPS KB720 5-Speed Blender, 60 oz Glass Jar

Best (& Quietest) Blender I've Owned
Just finished my first blend - was a bit worried after reading all of the negative reviews concerning about whether this unit can adequately blend frozen fruit. First impression - very nice. Smoothie with frozen strawberries (+ almond milk & protein powder) was well blended. Unit did turn itself off, either from an (unseen) auto timer or the heat sensor issues raised in other reviews, but my smoothie was finished anyway. Very quiet blending - a huge plus as my cheapo blenders used to make me plug my ears and I'm sure woke the neighbors (apartment neighbors), as loud as jackhammers. So far so good, very pleased.

UPDATE: Many smoothies later - it occurs to me that those complaining about the lack of a "vortex" action, or incomplete blending, probably aren't following the blender directions. You must start the blender on its lowest setting first, then once the material has been broken down, you can move it up the speed list. If you make it go too fast too soon, there is...

All Mass, No Muscle
Given the name and great reviews, I had really high hopes for this blender. It is a solid blender, but it just did not blend solid food. At 1,000 watts it should have had the power to do what I needed it to do, which was to blend my frozen fruits into my daily smoothie. I use various frozen fruits depending on the flavor, as well as soy milk and yogurt (that I partially freeze as well to gain a certain consistency) and some dry ingredients, such as sugar and protein powder. My old blender, the L' Equip 228 R.P.M Blender, only had 900 watts and it handled the blending extremely well, but the shoddy construction of the L'Equip blender meant fishing out little bits of aluminum shards from my smoothie, which is what sent me looking for a replacement blender in the first place.

Right out of the box, it seemed solid, if enormous. This blender will hold about 33% to 50% more than your average blender, without really taking up more space, and I can see how that can be a benefit for...

Great blender. Quiet and easy to clean.
This is a really well designed blender worth the extra for serious users. The 60 oz capacity is great. It comes with a glass not plastic jug. As noted, it's unusually easy to disassemble and clean. No effort needed to unscrew it. The speeds are well chosen (a pulse option and an ice option, plus 4 speeds, not counting "slow."). Very quiet, especially at speed 1 (low) which is all you need to remix a smoothie you set aside in the fridge. Another great feature is that it has protection against vibration "creep" (which causes so many blenders to unscrew from the base while they run).

On the other hand, it smells like burning oil on top speed and a heat sensor often causes it to turn itself off (it resets in a minute or so). Another negative is the bad pour "spout." Inevitably it drools down the side of the blender when you pour. Finally, the top latches (locks) on, which is totally unnecessary and makes the top harder to clean (extra nooks and crannies on the cover because of...

O2Cool 1089 Portable 2-Speed Tower Misting Fan

What a handy n neat little verstile fan!
I LIKE THIS ITEM! What makes it so nifty is it works on a car charger,(included) regular a/c (included) OR D batteries! 3 different power sources in one make it very portable and usable in different situations. The fans themselves are small yet its quite powerful and you can angle the bottom fan up or down and the top one left to right..the mist comes out in the middle and is VERY cooling and refreshing, (esp if u used chilled water) Now it does say that the misting last for some ridicules amount of time like 10 hours. That's wrong, you have to fill up the bottle about every hour to 2 hours and SOMETIMES esp on the intermittent misting feature it will stop misting and u have the give the bottle a little twist or tap. Still though living in HOT n HUMID FL I find it's an item I cannot live without and on dryer days it doubles as a humidifier, have used in the house and as long as your not setting it next to electronics it doesn't get anything soaking or dripping wet. Also a great item...

Ok for a very limited misting area
This is a great idea that has some value but falls short in a few key areas. It is nice as a fan, two fans. The top one swivels left and right the bottom one up and down. You do not get full movement from either. As just a fan it works fine.

But most people are going to be using this for misting. Unfortunately the misting does not go very far or very wide. They needed to make this a more powerful-wider sprayer and would have been a very good product. Also O2cool does make some products with built-in rechargeable batteries. If they had done that here even raising the price a bit it would have been a lot better value since most people will buy this for being outdoor at kids sporting events, picnics, and camping etc. The water bottle that comes with it with a unique top is not wide enough for ice (unless small shards of crushed ice), which is an additional drawback.

Certainly not a bad product and given the limited choices in portable misting fans. I would recommend...

Not worth $40, but had to try it.
So i was looking for a portable misting fan and came across this one. read the other reviews and thought it just may be good enough for the price. Really its just ok. It will cool you down if you sit no further than 5 feet away but be ready to get a little wet (which in the summer may not be so bad). The water misting will only last 1 hour ( i timed it) not 8 hours like it advertised. The fans are ok would work well as desk fan or in a small room. So is it worth $40? Nope. if Amazon drops the price to like $20 then id say buy it but i guess to some degree you always get what you pay for.

Holmes HASF1650-U 3-Speed 16-Inch Indoor/Outdoor Stand Fan

Shoddy Design
The fan began to lose its electrical connection and shut off while in oscillation mode after just a few days of use. The problem was remedied by securing the cord to the stand with a cable-tie so the cord can no longer pull loose from it's connection. I would think the cord should exit at the base of the fan to avoid this problem.

Love this fan!
I was looking for an outdoor fan and was lucky enough to get this one for a good price from Amazon, not an outside seller. You did have to do a little assembling, nothing difficult. It is perfect for our back porch...looks great, very quiet, just enough air movement on the low setting to keep the bugs away. I find the height to be fine, especially if sitting, which on the porch we usually are, but you can of course tilt it up if necessary. There was not a remote included, even though mentioned in the description, but I really didn't need one anyway. I am very happy with this purchase.

Does not cool enough
It was easy to assemble but when I turned it on, it did not cool very much. I felt no breeze coming from the front of the fan, only from the sides. Also, the height was too low. It did not adjust to a good height. also the description said there was a remote but it did not come with one.

Foodsaver Smartseal V3485 Brushed Stainless Steel and Black

It's so smart, I started talking to it. (smile)
This is absolutely a marvelous product. I already have a foodsaver that I liked what it could do, but it was so ackward to use. It laid flat on the table and as I positioned the bag, I had to try to keep the bag steady with my left hand, while, with my right hand, pulled down the locking handle on the right side of the machine to hold the bag in place to seal. Then, I always found myself leaning slighty over the machine trying to see the control lights so I would know what settings I needed to turn to: dry/moist,etc. But now, I have the best. This machine stands upright, all controls are in plain sight, it holds it's own bags, has it's own cutter for sizing new bags and one to cut them open. My first use was with a already made bag. (I reuse my bags by washing them with hot soapy water, and drying them. (I have plenty of new bags and rolls too.) You have to make sure you use them a little larger than you need to keep using them again.)After I filled the bag with food and gently guided...

Couldn't Live Without It
I had a much older model FoodSaver for many years, and finally wore the poor thing out. So I decided to purchased the brushed stainless steel model V3485 as this one had a hose port just like my old one did, so I already had the canning jar accessories for both regular jars, and also wide-mouth jars. As my previous model was the kind you manually closed onto the bag, it took me a few tries to master how to feed the bag into the V3485's slot (it wasn't hard at all, merely different from my old model). Already being familiar with having to freeze moist foods (ham, hash browns, etc.), and also soft foods (birthday cake with decorated frosting, etc.), prior to vacuum sealing them, there was no "transition period" between my old model and this new one (other than getting used to feeding the bag into the new model's slot). I don't buy pre-made bags, preferring to buy them by the roll so that I can make them any length that I want to, and have had no problems re-using the bags I've made...

Not as good as expected
This was a replacement for an old foodsaver V1060 that was used for several years and would no longer vacuum. Unfortunately parts were obsolete. After reading mixed reviews, I bought this model and although I liked the upright design, that was about all that I liked. Making the bags was somewhat awkward but far easier than trying to get the vac to work. I repeatedly had to insert, retract and wiggle the bag for the machine to sense a bag had been inserted. When it worked, it was great but not worth the time and effort it took to try to get it to work. When making bags and sealing them, there was a lot more waste than with the older model. I thought maybe I had a lemon and might exchange it for another but I opted not to and will try different model.

Eureka Maxima Upright Vacuum, 4711BZ

Vacuuming seems less heinous a chore!
Love this vacuum cleaner!! Very lightweight, love the compact size for condo storage, and am amazed at how much 'crud' this little thing picks up! I was actually rather grossed-out by how much it picked up after my Dirt Devil bit-the-dust (literally). I hadn't realized I was such a slob. Heh. Yeesh! Great vacuum cleaner for the price!

Good Bargain
This is a good little vacuum - easy to use, not real heavy and bulky and lots of onboard tools....great price too

The More It Sucks, the More It Sucks
I've had the Eureka Maxima 4711 for the past 3-4 years, and while it's done an OK job during most of that time, it has never been what I would call a "great" vacuum cleaner (I don't know if the 4711AZ is any different from the 4711, which is what I have).

I WILL give it high marks for being bagless, which not only makes it easy to empty the contents when full, but is probably more cost-effective and environmentally sound than using bags. Bagless VCs also eliminate the hassle of trying to figure out what kind of bag to use in the machine and what to do when the store doesn't have the bag you need.

Like I said, most of the time it's fine. Here's why I'm giving it only three stars:

(1) As a previous reviewer commented, the hose keeps slipping out of the base. This is extremely annoying! There's no latch or anything to secure the hose -- you just shove it into a hole in the base and hope it stays in while you're vacuuming. That hope is dashed all too...

If you don't like it they won't let you return it.
I have had an induction burner before, and it worked great. This one DOES NOT. I cooks slower than a regular burner and because the burner is so small it only heats a 5 inch circle in the middle of the pan. Now I want to return it and they are saying I can't if it has been used. How do you know if it works if you can't try it?? Would not recommend.

The range of temps is great I can even fry eggs and they come out great.I have even cooked four course meals on it and because it cooks faster it doesn't take to long. Some day I would like at least a two burner.I love the fact that the pan is the only thing that gets hot.

Cuisinart® 12-cup Coffee Maker - Black Chrome Series

one minor flaw
I am VERY picky when it comes to coffee makers and have trouble finding one that doesn't make the coffee taste like plastic. This one works fine for me. I owned a DeLonghi before this one for about 6 years and the new DeLonghis have suffered a setback in quality as far as I am concerned. I returned about 3 of them. The minor flaw in this coffee maker is that the water gauge is on the inside and it is a little hard to tell what the level is. It is also a little tricky to pour water into. That wasn't enough for me to return it though, since the coffee tasted great!

Love my coffee machine
I purchased this coffee maker 4 months ago and it has worked wonderful so far. This is the 3rd coffee maker I have had in the last year. It told me last week to clean it and I did. Makes wonderful coffee set to my taste, and stays as hot as I want it to. Looks sleek and beautiful on the cabinet. Only drawbacks are you have to pour slow so you don't dribble (but only when I rush) and clock can't be seen in dark so I keep it unplugged when not in use. I hope it lasts as long as it is warranteed for but would take 2 years.

* P.S.: It is now Dec2010 and I have had NO problems with this coffee maker for 3 years. When it finally does break I hope the new ones are just as good because I plan to buy another when needed. Even with a couple of drawbacks listed above it is the "Best Coffee Maker I've ever had".

* P.S.S.: It is now Dec2012 and still no problems with this coffee maker. Love, love, love it. Just have to clean it a couple of times a year and works...

Short life
We bought this coffee maker less than 2 years ago. For the past few months, we babysat it to restart it during the brew cycle. Now it is completely kaput. In researching other coffeemakers, I see that most manufacturers have at least 10 percent 1-star reviews, many because of the short lifespan of the product. After having a Braun coffee grinder for 25 years and prior coffee makers for at least 5, I expect more than a 2-year lifespan for something on which I spend nearly $100. We are going back to stovetop boiling and dripping into our own thermal carafe - no coffeemaker involved.

Electric Pressure Cooker - 5 Quart

Great 3-in-1 kitchen appliance, amazing results
I was always impressed with the food that came out of my mom's pressure cooker. It was fast and the results delicious, but it scared the bejesus out of me with all that hissing and spitting.

Now that I have this amazing electric pressure cooker (top rated by Good Housekeeping--google it), I love it. I use it ~3 times a week. The results are amazing and it's a pressure cooker, rice cooker AND slow cooker. This thing is awesome. Just make sure to also buy a 'pressure cooker cookbook' so that you have cooking times for all various foods, this cooker doesn't come with that or instructions, but it is 1-2-3-easy so you won't need them to use it.

You won't regret this if you like "slow food" but are totally impatient like me.
The Pressured Cook: Over 75 One-Pot Meals In Minutes, Made In Today's 100% Safe Pressure Cookers

Love it!
This was given to me as a gift and I really love it. I was not familiar with this brand, so I had reservations, but they were totally unfounded. I remember my Mom using a stove top pressure cooker and making scrumptious food in a really short time. So that was what I wanted to accomplish. To my recollection, the stovetop cookers are faster, and it takes a bit longer in the electric unit, but it works great. Plus you don't have to constantly watch it. Last nite, I made smothered steak (start to finish, one pan) in this cooker and it was outstanding! I use it 2-3 times a week. I think it would help for the manufacturer to include a list of approximate times for cooking things, that is my only complaint. As far as how it performs, it works great and keeps so much more of the flavor in - you just will be amazed how good everything tastes! I have only cooked meat in it so far, but I do want to try some dried beans.

Loved it until the fourth time I tried to use and it did not work at all. Sent it back to the company for a replacement a month ago and haven't heard a word since.

Avanti Wd29ec Wht Water Dispenser Table Top Cold N Room Temp

its ok... not bad
UPDATE: does not work. the inside is covered randomly in a tape that smells really toxic, the fumes permeate the machine, they enter the water. affecting the taste, the smell is horrible. awful awful awful, avoid! no idea why they would cover the motor in this horrible tape.

I actually received this and despite being marketed as "new" condition. It wasn't. It was reaaaally dirty. To start with, I would suggest CLEANING THIS THOROUGHLY. It doesn't come with a water bottle to put on top, but it does actually seem to work. For what I paid for it, this is OK! I sent in the papers for a warranty, too. Right now it still seems too dirty to drink... But all the buttons work and it doesn't seem like a complete waste. The package was surprisingly lightweight compared to what I was expecting, which is nice. I read other reviews that suggest cleaning it with vinegar, and other reviews suggest using baking soda. Also: as a sidenote I hope will help someone, I attempted to clean a water...

Total JUNK!
Unbelievable! The dispenser arrived and did not work! Furthermore this is a total flimsy piece of junk!! The faucets don't work, the bottles are too big and crush the cheap chinese plastic! Avanti needs to pull this off the market!!

10 Inch No Blade Bladeless Portable Fan

Safe for children but very expensive.
This fan is very safe for children because there are no blades. It is my kids favorite fan because they can feel the wind while putting their hand through it.

It is good for nights and it oscillate with a push of a button. You can adjust the tilt angle up and down, but very limited. It has the right weight for its size and its not so big so you can bring it around the house easily.

The big negative thing about it is the price, and the power of the fan doesn't match up with the price.

Disappointing
This is not fanless - there is a NOISY fan in the base pushing air up into the ring where it is supposed to push more air through with it. In this case the ring (12") is way too big for the amount of air the fan can push, making the "ring" of air very noticable and not seeming to "multiply" the airflow much at all. This fan is much too big and noisy for use as a desk fan and not nearly powerful enough to be a room fan.

My 5" desk fan makes less noise, pushes much more air and cost $12!

Save your money - not worth $15.

disappointed
This fan is a poor imitation of a Dyson blameless fan. You get what you pay for here.
After opening the box, we discovered it had a European plug which means you need an adapter to use it in a US wall socket.

After finding an adapter and getting it running, we found a variable speed knob at the base of the fan and there is also a small remote. The remove works to about 10 or 12 feet. This was insufficient for my needs.

The fan is VERY noisy! At low speed it might be tolerable, on full speed it was too noisy to have a conversation nearby.

Don't waste your money.

12 Cup Programmable Brewstation Coffeemaker

Ginny from Phoenix
I had looked all over town for the 12 cup Brewstation coffeemaker in white, without any luck. When I looked on line I found it right away at Amazon and it was delivered in just a few days, which was my idea of great service! I was replacing an older Brewstation that we loved. The new one is a bit difficult to pour the water into but on the up side it is a bit smaller than the old one and we can fill our larger cups with ease. I give it a solid 4 stars.

Love it, cleaning the coffee grounds filter is messy
I really like my coffee maker. Love the timer, love the brew options, love the auto-off, love love love. At first I thought that I had to use the reusable gold filter that comes with the coffeemaker without a paper filter. That irritated me and I wrote about it on my first review. I have since started using paper filters and it works just fine! So, you can either use the paper filters in the gold filter OR you can just use the gold filter by itself. I cannot recommend this coffeemaker more. Love it...although, I think you may have already figured that out.

Finally a dispenser that will work with your travel mug!
This is the second coffee pot like this we've gotten. Love it! Makes a tasty cup o joe, and doesn't burn your coffee if you get it a bit after it's made. Dispenses into your travel mug.. the others are all too short. I highly recommend!

Westinghouse 7814565 Turbo Swirl 30-Inch 6-Blade Ceiling Fan, White with Opal Globe

Nice looker, poor performer
I purchased this fan for a small bedroom- maybe 9X13 in size? Installation was actually very easy. The fan weighs more than it looks but was still lighter than most larger ones. The installation kit was pretty much identical to any other fan and the install process was also the same except that the "light kit" comes preinstalled. Like several other reviewers I was momentarily puzzled about how the blades fasten to the motor, but happened to see the screwdriver slot on the underside of the light area. I wasn't sure at first if I was supposed to use it for fastening the blades, but I decided it would be easier than taking the thing apart. Ends up that's exactly what the slot was designed for. The only twist is that you must install the blades on the bracket before attaching the bracket to the motor unless you have access to the top of the blade after install. This is not possible in a low profile or direct to ceiling application.

My experience in real life with this fan was...

30 inch Turbo Swirl ceiling fan
I have a very small bedroom. This fan is very small and quiet, yet generates alot of air. The light portion of the fan could be brighter, and is candleabra base, which is harder to find. Over all I'm happy with it.

Good Fan, litle wobbly out the box
I installed one of these fans in my bathroom (which has a window) and it works great. I hooked it right up to the light switch so when the light is on the fan is on (or you can pull chain it). lightbulb was not standard and wouldn't accept a compacr fluorescent due to size.

iRobot 14904 Battery for Scooba Robot Floor Cleaner

Generic battery, not iRobot Original
The product description does not say whether or not the battery was generic or not, but 2 reviews (out of 3) mention it as being original and not generic. What I got in the box was a generic battery, not iRobot original.

Tenery Battery
My Impression was that this was a orignal scooba battery. What I recieved was a tenery battery. I could have bought a tenery battery for less then this one. I paid 43+ also. Now they drop the price to 30 sumthing?

battery review
Battery received properly and in a timely manner. Charged correctly and is working well.
At receipt of the package I had to pay $4.25 postage due. The package showed a $4.75 that
I believe was paid at the time of shipping. I am interested in learning why I was required
to pay for postage due. Please respond.

Sunbeam 7530 Rocket Grill Electric Grilling Appliance, White

They did it right !!!
I bought my Rocket Grill about a week ago from the TV add. I usually shop Amazon when I see something on TV that I like but this time it looked so good I just called up and did the deal on the spot. I could have saved a few bucks had I gone to ...zon first and ordered on line.

Even so I am very pleased with the item to the point I wanted to share the experience with those now thinking of buying one.

To me the best feature is that just like the other reviews, there is no clean up. I figured that was a bit too good be true and it almost is. So far, the only clean up needed was to sponge off the lid. A very slight residue of oil will settle on the inside of the lid as the heated steam from the cooking process rises and passes through. The lid is extremely easy to remove so this kind of clean up is almost negligible.

Let me tell you, I've tried a bunch of kitchen grilling systems. There are those where I would set it and forget it, infra-red convection...

Impresive...if you use it right. Even to a cook.
I will address some of the negatives that people have brought up about the Rocket Grill, but first I must say that even for a cook this device was pretty damn impressive. I got it as a gift and expected to chuck it after an obligatory attempt at "grilling". As a cook, you aren't always in the mood to create something elaborate at home. So seeing it's description I immediately decided I would limit it to dry rub grilling and expected a dried husk of chicken to appear at the end (heck, it drains away the juices, I like the juices). When I cut open the breast, I was shocked to find a perfectly cooked piece of chicken with juices gushing out of it (obviously they didn't all drain out) and the outside sufficiently grilled. It actually tasted great. I was amazed at how quick it took. I rarely eat frozen but had to try it and unexpectedly had the same result.

If you don't have to cook for a family this is an option for a quick no hassle, tasty meal. But there are some...

So far, so good!
My first indoor grill was a small George Foreman grill. It wasn't that bad. A year later I upgraded to a much larger Sunbeam (not this one, but a George Foreman clone). The problem with the Foreman type grill is that you have a lot to cleanup. Sure it only takes 2-3 minutes, but i'm lazy and I don't like doing it. Actually sometimes it takes way longer than that. I don't like how it cooked food. Sometimes the outside will look burnt to a crisp and the inside is still pink! I always thought someone should come up with something better.

Well, now they have (I can't wait to see how many people think I work for Sunbeam!). I saw this advertised on TV one day and it looked like a good idea, but I didn't like how you had to keep getting new bags for it. I also disliked how they didn't list the price of it on the commercial.

I did some research online and saw a video review of it and they had some good things to say about it so that sealed the deal for me. I bought it...

Lasko 655704 Three-Speed High-Velocity Blower Fan, Black and Yellow

List cracks me up; but product good
I am aware this is a good product as I have one of these (Walmart $49.99 6/2011); it is quiet, moves air, extremely portable with small footprint. but please anyone, tell me if you have ever paid anywhere near what seller says is list price. It just cracks me up to see what they think they can get away with by posting a ridiculous list price....like I'm going to "jump all over" this product.

Very good purchase
We bought this in anticipation of a hot summer. It's come in very handy and the fan is relatively quiet compared to vornado and similar products. The lowest setting is enough in most cases. We love it.

Moves Air!
This fan moves a ton of air. We use it to circulate cool air to our upstairs area and it works perfectly.

Continental 5325 9-Inch Huskee PowerRotor Sweeper

Better on bare floors than carpet
It's easy to push, easy to empty, and cleans the bare floors well. On the carpet, which is pretty flat, I'm having an issue with the rubber pieces at the corners popping off. I'm not sure why. I bought it because it's the sweeper the custodians use at my school, and they're very happy with it. I like that it's a manual sweeper because I got tired of charging the battery on the cordless one I had, and I also got tired of replacing the expensive battery that refused to charge after a few years. Truthfully though, the cordless was more effective and practically pushed itself. After a while, I donated this one to charity because I really had bought it for the carpet. I don't recommend it.

this product is NO BETTER than a $25 dirt devil...save your money and buy the cheaper;yet similiar product!!!...NOT WORTH THE PRICE!!!

Low-Reach Dyson-DC07 Floor-Tool Attachment

Perfect for cleaning tile floors!
I bought this attachment to clean our carpeted stairs. It works well for that application but I was surprised to find out it is best suited for vacuuming our tile floors. Whereas our old vacuum would just spit out the dirt as it passed over it, this attachment works great at getting all of the dust and hair that gathers along the edges of our tiled floors. I use the Dyson without tools on our carpet and then I put this attachment on to do under the sofa and tables and all of our tiled surfaces. Works great!

Must have for wood and tile floors!
When we purchased our Dyson, I read about this tool in some of the reviews and decided to purchase the Factory-Reconditioned unit and use the money we saved to get this accesory.

This was a great choice, we love the vacuum and this tool does an outstanding job on our wood and tile floors. I think it does a great job on steps also. It has greatly expanded the functionality of the basic Dyson, and is well worth the extra cost.

Awesome Dyson Part
This tool is awesome for reaching under stuff, something the big Dyson doesn't do well. They should make this standard equipment instead of after market purchase, but still worth every penny...

Black & Decker CM1509 8-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker with Thermal Carafe

Not good enough for Goodwill
There are so many things wrong with this coffeemaker that I don't know where to start. I wanted to like it - my husband and daughter bought it when she and other family were in town visiting and our Braun coffeemaker stopped working. That was Mothers Day. I finally gave up yesterday, three months later. Here are the problems:

1. Weak coffee. There are two kinds of coffee drinkers in America: "is that tea or coffee, Mom?" coffee drinkers and coffee shop coffee drinkers. Yes, there really is a difference, and it begins with strength of the coffee (along with being freshly brewed, good quality beans, clean equipment, and, in most places, filtered water). But I digress. If you're OK with Aunt Mildred's coffee, you may be OK with this machine. It evidently pushes the heated water through the grounds too fast. There is no way to get a really strong cup of coffee, no matter how much coffee you use. For regular strength, we were using twice as much coffee as with the Braun...

I don't know what everyone is complaining about
Maybe Black & Decker recently changed the way they manufacture this machine but I have to say I am at a loss over why so many people are complaining. I bought this machine on sale at Target (Amazon turned out to have it for the same price, go figure) and then I found it online to look at reviews. After I read some of the more terrible ones, I was ready to return it without even trying but I figured that, since I already had it in my house, I might as well see how it works. A week later, I'm pleasantly surprised, so much so that I want to address some of the complaints I've read:

Coffee Temperature: Yes, this coffee maker either doesn't have a heat plate or it turns off once the coffee is done brewing (I'm not quite sure). Well, that's the point - leaving coffee over a heat plate for hours makes the coffee taste terrible (it's the reason I tossed my old coffee maker). The coffee this machine brews is hot - it's so hot that, after pouring a cup immediately after brewing, I...

Not bad if you like cold coffee
We bought this coffee maker about 5 days ago and were immediately and continuously disappointed. The carafe keeps the coffee tepid at best. There is no heating element on the coffee maker. From the moment coffee is made (not very hot) it gets cold. Within 30 minutes it is not drinkable. Additionally, the reservoir fill markers are easy to see but it is very, very difficult to see the water level. Unless you look directly into the coffee maker reservoir or pour the water into the reservoir from some premeasured container, it is almost impossible to determine how much water is in the reservoir.

Haier HVTS04ABB 4-Bottle Wine Cellar, Black

haier wine cooler
The cooler works great. The digital temp. setting only flucuates 1 degree and serves my purpose well. I highly recommend this wine cooler.

Love it!!!!!
I absolutely love it! I wish it was a little longer in depth so it could hold an opened bottle with the stopper. But it
keeps the temperature right on and is very quiet. Love the led light too! I would definitely recommend this to a friend. I will probably be buying one for my daughter soon!

Returns dept item sold as NEW? Tsk, tsk.
The unit showed up with a label, I eventually discovered, stating it was shipped from the 'Amazon returns dept'. WTF? It had scratches, mars, dings in the metal, etc. That ain't new, so why was it advertised as such?

I took it out of the box anyway, noting said abnormalities (along with a slightly askew door I might add) plugged it in, and tried to get the temp down to the display minimum; not a chance. Folks, this is NOT a Carnot cycle device; rather, it uses integrated circuits (Piezo crystals, I believe) to cool air based on a fixed temperature difference, which means you're at the mercy of your local climate / house temp. Which is fine if you live in the Great White North, but you're SOL if you're in south Texas, like myself.

It's not a bad looking unit and seems to be fairly well made, and would probably be fine for red wines (or Saki :-). But I'm still so pissed that Amazon and/or their subcontractors had the nerve to send out as new what was clearly...

Waring 12-c. Professional Ice Crusher, Brushed Stainless.

Very Nice Product!
This product has lived up to my expectations for a Waring appliance. Keep in mind it is a "crusher" and not a "shaver". It will not produce finely shaved ice, but will produce very good quality crushed ice. The ice it produces is just the right size-not too big, but not so small that it melts too quickly. My only small gripe is, it would have been nice to have a cover for the chute.

Fanstastic!
We have been looking for an ice crusher for years and finally someone is making one! This is a great product - it crushes ice so easily and quietly. Highly recommended, can't say enough about it!

Excellent machine
I've owned about 7 ice crushers in the last ten years. Every single one has been horribly noisy and has come apart within 18 months. Mostly because of plastic and cheap metal parts breaking, some even throwing the broken pieces into the crushed ice. This is the first heavy duty machine I've found for daily home use. Also, it is quiet. The others sounded like rock crushers. Also, this is the ONLY machine that completely hides the blades making them inaccessible and safer.

Smart Planet PP-5 Waffle Cone Maker

Waffle Cone Maker
I love the waffle cone maker. The cones come out great! The only thing is, it gets so hot, that even with a mitt, it's difficult to open it up when ready.

Poor quality, dangerous!
I used to work at an ice cream shop and love fresh waffle cones, so my husband surprised me with this appliance for my birthday. I was not expecting it to make restaurant quality cones, but I thought I would get some decent cones at least. The only thing great about this appliance is the batter recipe found in the booklet. After trying to roll over 15 waffle cones, I'm returning it immediately, and here's why:

- The lid isn't stable and will slam shut on you at the slightest touch (burning hot!)
- The front handle/ lip that is supposed to be used for lifting the lid is burning hot and you have to use an oven mitt to touch it.
- The indicator light does not click on and off consistently. Sometimes it indicates "ready" when the waffle is undercooked, and sometimes it indicates "ready" when the waffle is completely burned and inedible.
- The waffles that I managed to cook okay were paper thin and tore easily, making it very difficult to roll into the cone...

Great for amateur ice cream makers
I ordered this product on a whim one afternoon and wanted it the next day so I could make waffle cones for a 4th of July picnic. It came, and it almost conquered. If you've ever wanted waffle cones at home, this is a pretty easy and inexpensive way to take the consumption of ice cream to the next level.

The good: It heats up relatively quickly and its nonstick surface is easy to clean. Its instruction booklet comes with two recipes (original and chocolate). The original is pretty good. This appliance will smell pretty darn good if you don't leave the batter in too long. It makes for a good-sized cone, but can also do minis if you'd like. OR you can place a waffle over a tea cup or glass to make a waffle bowl.

Things to look out for with the APPLIANCE:
MESSY--as with most kitchen endeavors, waffle cone making is a messy process with any iron/method. With this product, make sure you have a towel or plate underneath it to catch any batter spillage. If you're...

Zyliss Mini Food Processor, White

Does everything the big boys do and no power required!
I bought this grater when I had an old food processor when all the attachments were broken and I needed finely chopped or grated nuts for my sweets. It is very easy and comfortable to use, thanks to the suction foot that is surprisingly strong for the small size. You just position the grater on a clean surface and turn the lever to block it, then you can choose the drum you need and place it in the grater, screw the handle on and get grating!
There are three drums in the package: slicing, fine grating and coarse grating. You can slice cucumbers for a salad or zucchini for a quiche or anything you want. Or you can finely grate hard cheese like Parmesan, chocolate or nuts: I have used it a number of times for these tasks and I am really satisfied, nuts fine as snow and fluffy Parmesan; you will not touch the chocolate so it doesn't melt on your hands while you are grating. Or maybe you feel like zucchini cheddar waffles and you can coarsely grate both in no time.

The clean up is...

Great for older hands
I love this product. I have been losing strength in my hands, and all of my other graters were either too difficult to squeeze the handle that presses the food and turn the handle OR they were flimsy and resulted in too many lost fingernails (several near misses on losing skin too). This is just what I needed. It's easy to use and easy to clean. Great price, great product. I recommend this if you have weak hands, and/or long fingernails. If you have neither but know someone who loves to cook and would appreciate an easy to use, convenient to clean and well made gagdet, it would make a great gift.

Long sought walnut grater that works perfectly!
I love to make (and eat) deserts that call for greated walnuts and occasionally haselnuts. Not chopped, and not creamed mind you, but a fluffy pile of fine grated nuts that doesn't feel greasy or soggy to add to deserts and cereal. I couldn't find a grater that would do this for a long time until finally, a friend of mine got this product for me. The finest grater barell is used for this, and if this gadget did this alone, it would still be more than worth it to me to pay much more for it then currently @19.99 price.

However, there are two other barrels that work wonderfully too. The larger grater is fantastic for carrots. I tried it with apples too, and it also works very well, but it is better with carrots. The white plastic is stained orange from carrots though, but this doesn't bother me since it works so incredibly great for grating them and I store the unit in the cupboard so I don't care how it looks like as long as it works well. The slicer barrel I have tried with...

Foodsaver T000-03450 Game Saver

great food saver
I picked this game saver because I saw it on another site that gave it great reviews. When I looked at it at Amazon, the reviews weren't as good. I decided to buy it because of the price and free shipping. I am so glad I did! It is so easy to use and seals quickly. I don't understand why anyone had a problem with it. The size is perfect, too. I recommend it for anyone. I usually don't do reviews but am so impressed with this food saver, I had to share.

great product so far
I made sure I read all the reviews and even tried a friend's before buying. If you read the instructions and follow them, this machine will work beautifully. I have now sealed a chest freezer full of various foods as well as spare socks and matches for my backpack, and I have had one bag fail to stay vacuumed. The mistake was mine, because I didn't get the sealing area completely clean before vacuuming and sealing the bag.

Only Adequate
I was a little disappointed at my foodsaver after reading all the great reviews. The suction/vacuuming is not as good as my old one, but it does get the job done.

I live on a boat........A very big boat. I recently had to have both heads completely pulled out and installed new toilets and hoses...etc.
When I came by to see how the repairs were going I notice there was no odor. The repairman had the "Dometic Breathe Easy" plugged in. I now own the Breath Easy and it runs 24/7. It keeps my boat smelling fresh, no more of the common smells from cooking and salt water sea cocks, heads....etc.
I recommend this product to everyone. It really works.

Fantastic product for your boat

not for wisconsin use
this device warms my feet when my foot is 1 inch from it it. my whole small room was not warm. i would say this is more of a personal heater. its only 34 degrees outside right now. maybe this will be better suited for a warmer state and for personal use. heat can only be felt 1.5 feet away, i feel no heat sitting three feet away. whith the device thermometer reading at 70 degrees - my small room does not feel like that at all. seems like the thermalstat only measures the warm air right around it.

Enough power but...
It's good to keep cold out. But not good power enough to warm all living room. Also the linkage for oscillating was broken and no more rotate whithn two months.
I think Honeywell HZ-7200 is better than this.

this is the best heater. we love it.
It is compact and a good look. It comes on when you need it. Safe for children. We love how it can swivel or just say in one place.
