Does not include 7" round adapter
I installed this hood today and had to drill some holes in the sides due to the existing cabinet configuration. This hood replaced a similar, 32 year old Nutone hood with a 7" round duct. The information given here states that a 7" round adapter is included. But, IT IS NOT included, and the owners manual and installation instructions DOES NOT list the adapter as part of the package, and the specification sheet states that the adapter must be purchased. The hood seems fine so far (owning it less than a day), but if you have a 7" round duct you will have to supply an adapter. This fact can make the installation much less simple than what is implied by another review of this hood. I suggest reading both the specification sheet and the installation/owners manual prior to purchase.
Not happy with it...
After reading all those wonderful reviews I just think that, unfortunately, I bought a bad/defected unit.
First of all - while talking about exact the same NuTone range hood, I need to tell you that I DIDN'T ordered it from Amazon.
I bought it brand new from an appliance store.
However,I am not happy with it, and will need to replace the whole hood.
I bought the range hood several months ago while my kitchen was remodeled. It was installed right away, but I didn't used it for a long time.
The first time I turned it on, I noticed that something was wrong with the air circulation. It was blowing the kitchen air right back into the kitchen.
I also noticed that even if turned off, a hot air from outside ( I live in South Texas ) was creeping through the filter opening into my kitchen.
Measured the temps with an infrared temperature meter and indeed, I was getting a hot air from outside.
After a close investigation, we found out that a "flapper"...
Should include non-ducted filter.
The unit was delivered on time.
I needed an exact replacement for an existing older Broan unit with a switch that was short circuiting. I could not find it at local Lowe's or Home Depot.
Unit does not come with the inexpensive non-ducted charcoal filter that I needed and had to order separately at extra cost and extra shipping charge.
