Really nice jewelry cleaner
Saw an earlier review, was nearby TJ Maxx, and there were 2 in stock (Westchester, NY) store. $29.99 can't beat that! Took it home, put water in it and off I went cleaning rings and diamonds, the force of the steam is amazing. I had a Jewelry Jet for 6 years, and it just does not compare, the steam temperature and force of the steam is twice that on the SI unit. It comes with tweezers which are a little weird to use, but not bad. The Jewelry Jet had a slot in the back to hold the tweezers, but the SI unit does not. After I used it, and tried to unscrew the Water Reservior Lid, I could not remove it, it has a safety feature built in, it has to cool first, you can fool it by just letting all the steam and pressure out of the chamber, but be careful, steam does burn. I tossed my Jewelry Jet, this is a keeper. It does recommend distilled water or demineralized water, which all recommend, I generally use tap water, but distilled would be better.
Surprisingly pleased
I found this machine on a steal at TJ Maxx for $29.99, so I decided to give it a spin. I wasn't sure it would do more than I do with a toothbrush and toothpaste (my old jewelry cleaning trick.) It was way better and much less invasive than toothpaste and brushing on platinum and diamonds. I definitely recommend. And to those who wonder if the steam is better than just using your cappuccino frother, it is MUCH stronger pressure. It makes your diamonds sparkle!
Very pleased
I just purchased this steam cleaner and found that it cleaned all of my jewelry very nicely. It's easy to use and gave me the same results as the steamer used by my jeweler. I would definitely recommend this product.
